Injection-Molded PEK Components

PEK (Polyetherketone), like PEEK, belongs to the polyaryletherketone (PAEK) family. However, due to its 1:1 ratio of ketone to ether groups, PEK offers advantages in certain areas, particularly improved high-temperature performance.

Due to its even higher melt temperature (~370 °C), the material offers significantly higher wear resistance as well as increased tensile and compressive strength at elevated temperatures compared to standard PEEK grades.

The application areas are similar to those of PEEK, but with even higher requirements for temperature resistance. Carbon fiber- or glass fiber-reinforced grades can further increase the stiffness and strength of injection-molded components.
