Injection-Molded PAI Components
PAI (Polyamide-imide) is one of the highest-performing thermoplastics and is typically used in applications requiring exceptional strength, stiffness, and temperature resistance. The material combines the mechanical properties of quality metals with the advantages of modern high-performance polymers.
PAI offers high compressive and tensile strength as well as excellent dimensional stability. With a continuous service temperature of up to 250 °C, it is one of the most temperature-resistant thermoplastic materials. In addition, PAI provides excellent wear and creep resistance, very good electrical insulation properties, and high resistance to numerous chemicals, fuels, and lubricants.
Injection-molded components made from PAI are primarily used in aerospace, the semiconductor industry, mechanical and plant engineering, and the automotive industry. Typical applications include bearings, seals, valve seats, wear components, and electrical insulation components.
